經文: 出埃及記 32:1 百姓見摩西遲延不下山，就大家聚集到亞倫那裡，對他說：起來！為我們做神像，可以在我們前面引路；因為領我們出埃及地的那個摩西，我們不知道他遭了什麼事。
默想: 摩西遲延不下山，造成在曠野以色列人屬靈領導的真空。這樣的真空，讓以色列人內心不安。他們不知道如果摩西不見了，他們往前的道路該如何行走。因此，他們只好要求亞倫，幫他們鑄造一個金牛犢，來作為帶領他們的神明。從這個事件，我們可以看見我們的心中，都需要一位神來帶領我們人生的方向。一旦我們無法從耶和華上帝那裡得到帶領，我們無法忍受這個屬靈領導的真空，我們會自己設法從被造物當中，創造出自己的神，來帶領我們的前途。這就是偶像產生的原因。求主幫助我，讓我這一生，都能夠得到你親自的帶領。

When the Lord was angry, Moses sought to the Lord for his favor by saying, “Why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand”(Ex 32:11)? “Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self: ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky……’” (32:13).
Moses tried to persuade the Lord with empathy and affection, reminding him of His covenant with His people. The Lord’s softened attitude shows that He is merciful and compassionate. He will definitely not ignore us when we plead and will always be understanding.
雖然人可以犧牲自己來救別人，然而上帝所認定的生命卻並非依照人所認定的，心中失去上帝的人，仍然無法經由人而得救，唯有依靠上帝才能真正得救。
